Museo d'Arte Cinese ed Etnografico di Parma
The Chinese and Ethnographic Museum of the Xaverians of Parma was founded in 1901 at the behest of Guido M. Conforti. The initial core of the collection was donated by Senator Lampertico at the end of the Universal Exhibition of Turin in 1898. For decades, missionaries in China periodically sent objects of art and local life to Parma, until 1947, when the communist takeover put an end to the Xaverian mission in the country. From the 1960s onwards, the museum was enriched with ethnographic materials from Asia, Africa and Latin America, becoming a testimony to three continents.
