Chiesa di San Giovanni Bosco - Opere di Franco Fiabane
The Church of San Giovanni Bosco in Belluno stands in a square named after him, embodying a vibrant core of spirituality and education for the neighborhood. Built between 1962 and 1966 and consecrated in July of that year by the Salesians, it continues to play a vital role thanks to their presence since 1952. Inside, in addition to the pictorial cycle by Pietro Cortelezzi on the life of Don Bosco, there are three extraordinary works by the Belluno sculptor Franco Fiabane: the large wooden 'Risen Christ', the ambo, and the baptismal font, powerful testimonies of contemporary sacred heritage. Next to the chapel, the rectory, the oratory, and a multipurpose hall enliven the community with events, meetings, and educational moments. The atmosphere, intimate and welcoming, translates Don Bosco's educational mission into reality, making the church a lively place, a foundation of parish and cultural life in the area.
