Museo del Violino of Cremona - Museum Itinerary
Cremona has been the capital of violin making for five centuries. At the Museo del Violino you can discover the fascinating story of this high craftsmanship through direct encounters with the great Masters and their masterpieces, following a balanced path of creativity and tradition, skill and knowledge that leads from the late Renaissance workshops to the present day. In the "Treasure Chest" ("Scrigno dei Tesori") and in the "Friends of Stradivari" room, works by Amati, Stradivari, Guarneri, Rugeri and Bergonzi are on display: a collection unique in the world. Only here, moreover, can you admire over 700 drawings, forms and tools used by Stradivari in his own workshop. Finally, violins, violas, cellos and double basses that won the Triennial International Competition, considered a genuine Olympics, bear witness to the eclectic vitality and the relevance of violin making today.
