This itinerary focuses on the history of the Ricci Oddi Modern Art Gallery and its founder, the Piacenza nobleman Giuseppe Ricci Oddi (Piacenza, 1869–1937).
Galleria d'Arte Moderna Ricci Oddi (DEMO)
The Ricci Oddi Modern Art Gallery owes its name to its founder, the Piacenza nobleman Giuseppe Ricci Oddi (1868-1937), who donated his art collection to the city. Inaugurated in 1931, the Gallery houses over seven hundred works by artists - primarily Italian - from the nineteenth to the early twentieth century. The nineteen exhibition rooms are divided by region, artistic movement, and in some cases dedicated to a single artist. The collection includes only works dating from 1830 to 1930.
