Information
Via Francesco del Cairo, 41, 21100 Varese VA, ItaliaExhibition itinerary "Antonio Barrese – Morphologies of Light"
At the Marcello Morandini Foundation, from June 21 to December 20, 2026, the exhibition "Morfologie di luce" (Morphologies of Light) offers an extensive journey through the artistic research of Antonio Barrese, one of the leading Italian figures in programmed and kinetic art. Founder of the MID Group in the 1960s, Barrese developed a poetic vision that unites art, science, and design thinking, exploring light as a generative element of space and a tool for perceptual transformation. The works on display — spanning both historical and recent pieces, from 1965 to 2025 — include images, interactive installations, and immersive environments that invite visitors to discover the expressive potential of light.
Exhibition Itinerary: Antonio Calderara
This itinerary is dedicated to the exhibition hosting 49 works by artist Antonio Calderara from public and private collections, tracing his evolution from figurative to abstract art.
The Marcello Morandini Foundation was established in 2016 by the artist himself and thanks to the generous contribution of two important collectors, whose dream was to create an open, accessible and inclusive exhibition space to showcase Marcello Morandini's works. The Foundation came to life in 2017 with the start of renovation and conversion works of Villa Zanotti, one of the precious early 20th century architectures that still characterize the cultural heritage of Varese, the city where Morandini lives and works. In the splendid spaces of the villa, located in the heart of the city, the Marcello Morandini Foundation is dedicated to the conservation and enhancement of Marcello Morandini's artworks, design pieces, and architectural projects. A production that presents itself as a synthesis of the arts, in which the artist measures the human dimension by identifying and generating spaces through an infinite geometry.
