Villa Contarini - Fondazione G. E. Ghirardi
Villa Contarini – G.E. Ghirardi Foundation, located in Piazzola sul Brenta, was built on the remains of an ancient medieval castle. Transformed in the 17th century by Marco Contarini into an extraordinary residence of representation, the Villa became a true “theatrical place.” After a period of neglect, it was restored by the Camerini family according to the eclectic taste of the 19th century, and later acquired by Prof. G.E. Ghirardi, who promoted its recovery.
Since 2005 it has been owned by the Veneto Region, which is committed to its enhancement. Today the Villa hosts cultural events, concerts, and public and private initiatives, confirming itself as an important meeting place for history, art, and culture.
