This itinerary presents the Museum of Author's Gold, an area set up in the Palazzo della Fraternita dei Laici, dedicated to narrating the deep connection that unites the city of Arezzo with the local manufacturing tradition. This tradition develops between art, history, and economy, offering unique creations that combine excellence, quality, and design.
The city of Arezzo is characterized by an ancient and precious manufacturing tradition, which develops between art, history and economy, and offers itself as the soul of a present that is excellence, quality, design. The Orodautore museum is located in the heart of the city and occupies some rooms of the Palazzo della Fraternita dei Laici. Here, a rich collection of contemporary jewels is presented that tell the story of the last thirty years of experimentation in the field of designer jewelry and that are signed by Italian designers and artists. The jewels on display are more than three hundred: "unique pieces" and extraordinary, dating from the 70s to the first two decades of the third millennium. Each artifact testifies to the mastery of local artisans in the creation of small works of art, inspired by the creativity of international artists and designers such as Venturino Venturi, Pietro Cascella, Salvatore Fiume, Bruno Munari, Arnaldo and Giò Pomodoro.
