The Footwear Museum of Villa Foscarini Rossi is located along the banks of the Brenta river, inside a historic 17th-century residence. Across more than 700 m² of exhibition space, over 1,350 luxury women's models are displayed, produced by the Rossimoda shoe factory in collaboration with the most prestigious fashion houses on the international scene. Inaugurated in 1993, the Museum's mission is to bear witness to the knowledge of the territory, spread awareness of the footwear tradition of the Riviera del Brenta, and document the evolution of costume and fashion in the second half of the twentieth century through the "Footwear" accessory. The passing tourist, captivated by the harmony, creativity and craftsmanship that distinguish Made in Italy products, will find these same values reflected in the historic architectural structures and the perspective plays of the magnificent 17th-century frescoes of the Foresteria, created by Domenico de' Bruni and Pietro Liberi. The Museum also houses a small but precious collection of ancient and ethnic footwear.

Accessibility
We tell the story of the villa in a clear, understandable and accessible way for everyone.
The Veneto Region has created a series of guides in A.A.C. (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), to allow every visitor to enjoy a unique heritage like that of the Venetian villas, through clear information and simple narratives.
3 communication codes – images, words and symbols – are harmoniously integrated.
In the AAC guide you will find:
- photos, to describe what can be found in the villa,
- texts, easy to read and suitable for people with mild dyslexia,
- Widgit Literacy Symbols – pictograms (known as Rebus).
A brochure for everyone, a valuable travel companion useful for children with Specific Learning Disorders, with cognitive difficulties or who have not yet acquired reading and writing skills, for young people and adults whose mother tongue is not Italian, for people with cognitive disabilities and autism, but also for elderly and foreign people who need easy reading.
The initiative is funded by the Tourism Directorate of the Veneto Region as part of the European project Tourism4All (Interreg Italy-Croatia programme) with the aim of strengthening the inclusivity and accessibility of the travel experience, for everyone.
The AAC guide is available in paper format inside the villa and in pdf format.
