The Archaeological Complex of Pozzo della Cava is a descent into a fascinating corner of underground Orvieto, winding beneath the streets and houses of the oldest part of the medieval quarter. A 36-metre plunge into the heart of the tufa cliff, among small hypogeal treasures to discover in complete freedom and total safety. A heritage of archaeological evidence spanning from the Etruscan period to the medieval era and through to contemporary times, brought back to light through private commitment after centuries of abandonment. Since 2023, this site has been included in the UNESCO World Network of Water Museums (WAMU-NET).

Continuous hours from 10am to 8pm (last entry at 7:45pm)
Closed on non-holiday Mondays – other hours by appointment

- Full price: € 5.00 per person
- Reduced: € 3.50 per person

The archaeological complex of Pozzo della Cava is included in Orvieto Carta Unica, the cumulative ticket for all museums and monuments in the city
