In 2018, the Pro Loco Castellana Grotte "Don Nicola Pellegrino" launched an ambitious project in the old town: an open-air gallery that can be visited by anyone at any time of the year, accessible and free of charge. An initiative that is much more than a simple cultural and urban enhancement project: it is at the same time a challenge, a journey into the past that brings back to life the old wooden and iron doors, transforming them into works of rediscovered beauty. Among the narrow streets of the historic center of Castellana Grotte lies a true open-air gallery, where a group of Apulian artists, armed with brushes, palettes and colors, have transformed the old entrance doors of shops and homes into genuine works of art. Through this original cultural operation, which is at the same time an act of urban embellishment, the Pro Loco aims to raise awareness of important periods in the city's history.
