Birth, Death, and Resurrection of Christ - Church of Col di Cugnan
The church of Col di Cugnan houses, on the back wall of the presbytery, a large mural decoration created by Franco Fiabane in 1984 and entitled Birth, Death, and Resurrection of Christ. The work, executed with colored plasters, blends harmoniously into the architectural space, making use of the triangular shape of the wall and the light that enters from the side skylight.
The composition solemnly and succinctly depicts the central moments of Jesus’ life: on the left, the Holy Family; in the center, the Cross evoked in the background; and on the right, the Risen Christ.
In this unified vision, the Incarnation, the Cross, and the Resurrection merge into a single image, offering visitors an essential and contemplative reflection on the Christian mystery of redemption.
