CAOS χάος. Spaces and poetics of Informal art - Standard route
The BPER Gallery, at the Palazzo San Carlo venue in Modena, presents "CAOS χάος. Spaces and poetics of Informal art", an exhibition that invites the public to immerse themselves in the universe of Informal art, one of the most innovative and engaging experiences of the twentieth century. Through a selection of works from the BPER Corporate Collection and from important public and private loans, the itinerary tells the story of the moment when artists chose to abandon figurative representation in order to rely on the energy of gesture, the strength of matter and the freedom of the mark. What happens when the rules break? When reality changes shape and makes room for uncertainty, experimentation, the unexpected. Chaos, here, is not merely disorder. It is a possibility. It is the space from which new ideas, new languages and new images take shape. In the works of artists such as Carla Accardi, Afro, Alberto Burri, Giuseppe Capogrossi, Lucio Fontana, Emilio Vedova and many others, the visitor is invited to explore surfaces, traces and colours that speak directly to the senses and to the imagination. Amid matter that transforms itself, gestures that leave their mark and forms that escape every definition, "CAOS χάος" offers a visiting experience capable of surprising, engaging and questioning. An opportunity to discover up close masterpieces of Italian art from the second post-war period and to let oneself be guided on a journey where every work opens up new possibilities of interpretation.
