KARLA DE LARA - Etra Galeria
Galería Etra presents an exhibition dedicated to Karla de Lara, a Mexican artist born in Guadalajara in 1972 and internationally recognized as the "mother of hyperrealist pop art." Her career includes more than 400 solo exhibitions in about 40 countries. She began drawing at the age of four, studied Graphic and Industrial Design, and later completed a master's degree at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. Upon her return, she developed a patented technique that combines wax and ink, the source of the light and texture that distinguish her pieces. Her language has expanded to bronze sculpture, with "El corazón de Tonalá," four meters tall, to crypto art in NFT form, and to collaborations with Chopard and Bentley. She is the creator of the largest interior mural in Latin America, at Expo Guadalajara, and the only living artist with a work in the collection of the National Museum of History, in Chapultepec Castle.
