General itinerary on Lorenzago
This itinerary introduces the visitor to the small town of Lorenzago di Cadore, describing its most characteristic places such as the Museum of the Popes, the churches, the sanctuary and the paths
In 2005, a group of young volunteers with the support of the then parish priest of Lorenzago, Don Sergio De Martin, decided to dedicate something tangible to the six papal presences in the small town of Cadore. The historic building of the rectory, now in disuse, was the most suitable location for a permanent exhibition dedicated to the theme and was restored for this. The exhibition is characterized by photos that portray the Holy Father Wojtyla and the Holy Father Ratzinger in particular moments, both official and in the midst of nature, and has been enriched over time with very precious objects that belonged to them. In Lorenzago, other signs of the papal presence are the open-air sanctuary near the house that hosted the Pontiffs in the Mirabello area, the path dedicated to Saint John Paul II and the various churches of the town, included within the Art Treasures of Belluno.
