The outside villa
This section is about the history of the Villa, its structure and the family who lived here
The De Claricini family descends from the Clarissimi lineage of Bologna in 10th century. Boniatolo or Bongiacomo de Claricini, the progenitor of the friulian lineage, moved in Cividale in 1260 because he was called to take part of the Noble Council of Cividale. The Villa was built approximately in 1670, it is unknown because there is not a project, like the most of the friulian villa but with a several written testimonials we can rebuilt the villa's history. Also, in the archive there are many books written in the early 19th century that explained the building was restored in few points. The elongated shape of the house is typical of Friuli, but the decorations are typical of Venetian art, which is why the villa can be defineted Venetian Villa. The building includes: the manor house, the church and the outbuildings. The northern side, that is used today, it was used to be a private garden called the "honor garden" with a well in the centre of the little garden with several boxwood shrubs. The southen side there is the italian garden, that was rebuilt in 1908 by Count Nicolò.
Italian garden

The formal garden, or the italian garden, is a late Renaissence style of garden distinguished by a geometrical spaces of trees and evergreens bushes, the are often boxwoods. This type of garden was really famous in the early 20s and 30s when this garden was decorated with statues and fountains. The central stone floor is definited by the lemon and orange trees during the spring and the summer, but during the winter these cenutires trees stay in the greenhouse. This greehhouse, located at the east side of the villa, was built in the last 19th century and it is also called the lemon house. At the end of the central stone floor, there is a balaustrade which divedes the italian garden to the english park with centenary trees like maples, cedars, beech trees, holm oaks. Beyond the park it starts the cemented streeet with many cypresses and the vineyard. In the past this street was used as the main street to enter in the villa with the carriages.
The vineyards
This section is about the vineyards, the focus of the stregth of this place
In the extrem south of the park, near the residence stone wall, it beginnes the vineyard. We have 12 hectares of vineyards, of which 10 around the villa and 2 in Rubignacco with organic and regenerative agriculture. Our wine is made with the philosophy to help plants protect themselves, because being organic is not enough: using a little sulfur and copper while respecting the environment is conventional. But we need to focus on the soil, because the health of plants is proportional to the health of the soil as soil is healthy if it is alive. We have also 150 hectares of organic arable land: barley, spelled, ancient grains, legumes (chickpeas, lentils, soy) and sunflower Our products are the identity of this land and every act of love and protection is inside of our wines and foods.
