Immerse yourself in the variety and richness of its collections, divided into major thematic areas – the neoclassical rooms, the collection of works by Antonio Canova, and the history and civilization of Venice – to discover the many facets of the collection donated to the city by the nobleman Teodoro Correr, thus forming the foundation of today’s civic museums.

The Painting Gallery of the Museo Correr houses numerous masterpieces of Venetian painting, as well as works from the Ferrarese, Northern European, and Cretan schools, from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. Set up in 1960 by the famous architect Carlo Scarpa, with a clear rationalist imprint, it remains today a masterful example of modern museography.
