Palazzo Collicola, one of Spoleto's most important noble buildings, is now home to a prestigious art collection spread across two exhibition floors. The Noble Apartment, located on the first floor, is a wonderful example of a noble residence. Recently redecorated with precious furnishings, some of which are from the original furnishings, it houses a gallery of paintings from the 16th to 19th centuries, including the famous Apothecary from Guercino's workshop and a Still Life attributed to the Hartford Master. The apartment hosts contemporary art exhibitions throughout the year. The second floor houses the Giovanni Carandente Gallery of Modern Art, which collects paintings and sculptures by the most important Italian and international artists of the 20th century. Divided into 18 rooms, it boasts works by Calder, Pepper, Moore, Smith, Pomodoro, Burri, Consagra, Pascali, Accardi, and LeWitt, making it one of the most important contemporary art collections in Italy.
