The Director's Itinerary
Welcome to "The Director's Journey". In this one-hour tale, we will take you on a journey through time, discovering the most important figures in the early history of the Abbadia San Salvatore mine. These characters, with their intertwined lives and diverse personalities and approaches, contributed decisively to the birth and development of one of the most important mercury mines in the world. We'll start from the beginning, from that June 20, 1897, when the first Anonymous Society of Mercury Mines of Mount Amiata came to life, and we'll go up to World War II. It's a story of visions, sacrifices, passions, encounters, and conflicts that intertwine to give life to an enterprise that changed the face of an entire community. All that's left is to wish you a good journey through time.

This itinerary is dedicated to the "Clock Tower" Documentary Museum that houses the archive and historical memorabilia of the Monte Amiata Company.
Gallery Itinerary Level VII - Children's Route
Hello little explorers! Are you ready for an underground adventure? Come with us into Gallery Level VII, the first underground route of the Mining Park Museum of Abbadia San Salvatore! Put on your hard hats and get ready to discover the secrets hidden beneath the ground!
At the Mining Museum Park of Abbadia San Salvatore, visitors can explore the mines where mercury was extracted from 1899 to 1972 and learn about the development and evolution of one of the world's most important mineral deposits, located in the heart of Monte Amiata. The exhibition is divided into three areas: the Clock Tower, housing the documentary museum; the former Workshop, featuring a multimedia and interactive experience inaugurated in 2016; and finally, the Level VII Gallery, where five environments recreate the excavation fronts and various processing phases in a highly evocative atmosphere.
Opening hours
From November 4 to December 23, 2024, the Mining Museum Park will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM; on other days, it's available by request for groups of at least 10 people. Please note that entries and guided tours require reservations (Tel. 0577778324).

Accessibility
We would like to point out that the entrance to the Museum is located in via Suor Gemma number 1 in Abbadia San Salvatore.
The entire Museum can be accessed by wheelchairs for the disabled thanks to the elevators with the exception of the Gallery on level VII.
