At the Mining Museum Park of Abbadia San Salvatore, visitors can explore the mines where mercury was extracted from 1899 to 1972 and learn about the development and evolution of one of the world's most important mineral deposits, located in the heart of Monte Amiata. The exhibition is divided into three areas: the Clock Tower, housing the documentary museum; the former Workshop, featuring a multimedia and interactive experience inaugurated in 2016; and finally, the Level VII Gallery, where five environments recreate the excavation fronts and various processing phases in a highly evocative atmosphere.

We'll start from the beginning, from that June 20, 1897, when the first Anonymous Society of Mercury Mines of Mount Amiata came to life, and we'll go up to World War II.
