Salerno Sacra is an itinerary of history, art and faith that aims to introduce you to the most important ecclesiastical sites of the city:
1) the Cathedral, known for being the place where the remains of Pope Gregory VII and Saint Matthew the Apostle and Evangelist are kept;
2) the Diocesan Museum, custodian of the cycle of Medieval Ivories, the Exultet and precious masterpieces narrating the history of Salerno from the 12th to the 19th century and
3) the rectory of San Giorgio, a centuries-old building that today shows itself in all its baroque splendor.
Following this itinerary means entering the places of faith of the city and taking a journey through history. Getting to know its architecture and the works preserved is a journey that exalts Christianity, which has always been central to Salerno.
