Luzzati. Genova Mai Uguale
Twenty years after the death of Emanuele Luzzati, the Lele Luzzati Foundation ETS pays tribute to the Maestro with this exhibition, which tells of Luzzati's special relationship with Genoa, a city he loved, observed and continually reinvented through his work. From his beginnings in the post-war period to his major collaborations with the theatre, institutions, businesses and the port, "Luzzati. Genova mai uguale" illustrates the changes in the city and the way in which Luzzati helped transform its imaginary. Not a celebratory exhibition, then, nor a simple retrospective dedicated to the Maestro, but a journey through the years, along history and stories. "Genova Mai Uguale" is the narrative of a city that continues to reinvent itself through art, and the story of an artist who chose throughout his life to keep belonging to it, offering an interpretation of it that has become part of shared memory. Casa Luzzati, a centre for cultural production, with this exhibition structured on several levels of interpretation, conveys the complexity of an artist who did not limit himself to depicting the city, but also helped to build its contemporary face.
