Paleontological Museum of Magliano Vetere
The hills that surround this museum are the floor of an ancient sea, lifted up until it became mountain. This itinerary tells you how they got here, starting from very far back: the Big Bang, the birth of the Earth, the appearance of life. Room after room the story narrows to the Cilento, down to the deposits of Petina, Ottati, Monte Vesole and Magliano Vetere: fish that died en masse in a poisoned lagoon, shrimps that rewrote the history of their group, the footprint left by a turtle 95 million years ago. At the end, Ciro awaits you, the first Italian dinosaur.
