Monument to survivors, rescuers, and unborn children - Fortogna Monumental Cemetery
In the cemetery of Fortogna, a symbolic site of the Vajont tragedy, Franco Fiabane’s monument pays tribute to the victims and survivors with three sculptural groups carved in white Carrara marble. The figures, imbued with humanity and composure, evoke sorrow, compassion, and hope, forming a silent collective narrative. The work stands as a secular temple of remembrance, set against the backdrop of the Alpine landscape.
