Ca' Rezzonico: what to see
The palazzo was begun in the mid-1600s by Baldassarre Longhena and completed by Giorgio Massari after the Rezzonico family bought it in 1750. The rooms keep the look of an 18th-century Venetian residence, with the ballroom and a portego where a 19th-century gondola is on display. The works include paintings by the Tiepolos, Rosalba Carriera, the Longhis, the Guardis and Canaletto, as well as frescoes detached from other buildings and ceiling canvases. Robert Browning was among the palazzo's guests and died there in December 1889.
