Murano Glass Museum: what to see
Born in 1861 as an archive documenting the history and life of Murano, the museum now tells the story of Murano glass. The visit starts from the origins with the archaeological section and continues with the golden age between the 14th and 17th centuries, the 18th century between fashion and creativity, Venetian beads and murrine, up to the 19th-century revival and the link between glass and design in the 20th century. The contemporary collection keeps growing thanks to purchases and donations from the island's furnaces.
