The Birthplace of Tiziano Vecellio is a museum located in Pieve di Cadore, in the province of Belluno. Built in the 15th century as a family residence, which at the time of construction represented a typical home of a distinguished local family, then subsequently subjected to renovation works commissioned in 1926 by the Magnifica Comunità di Cadore. After restoration work, in which the bodies added in the 18th century were demolished, it resumed the forms that various artists of the 16th and 17th centuries had seen and reproduced, being opened to the public in 1931. Since then, the home of a young mountaineer who, leaving Cadore at a very young age for the lagoon capital, became the protagonist of 16th-century painting, has been open to the public: a "place of the heart" for which the Magnifica Comunità di Cadore has the responsibility, towards humanity, of the custody.
