Castello di San Pelagio - Museo del Volo

San Pelagio Castle is located in the municipality of Due Carrare, the ancestral home of the famous Carraresi family, lords of Padua from 1318 to 1405. Only the characteristic crenellated tower remains intact of the ancient medieval castle, while the residential area was converted into a villa around 1775 by the Zaborra counts, who still own it today. Also known as Villa Zaborra, the castle was converted into a museum in 1980 and also offers event spaces and services, including a renowned restaurant and six conference rooms. The castle is also surrounded by a beautiful park divided into the main garden, a secret garden, a brolo, centuries-old hornbeam trees, a fish pond, and an ice house. The gardens are dominated by splendid English roses, along with a fascinating Roman-era thermal pool, discovered during restoration work.
