MUSeCO - Polo museale della Città di Conversano
MUSeCO (Museums in Conversano) is the Museum Complex of the City of Conversano, established to showcase its art, history, and traditions. Its origins date back to the 1980s, when the Municipality established the Civic Museum in the spaces of the Monastery of San Benedetto, with an archaeological section. In the 1990s, following the restoration of the Acquaviva d'Aragona Castle, the Civic Art Gallery was inaugurated, intended to house the celebrated pictorial cycle by Paolo Finoglio dedicated to Jerusalem Delivered. In the early 2000s, thanks to the recovery of new spaces within the castle, other sections of the Territory Museum and areas for temporary exhibitions were added. In this way, the Civic Museum definitively transformed into the MUSeCO Museum Complex. Today MUSeCO is an important cultural institution owned by the Municipality of Conversano.
