The bronze portal by Franco Fiabane for the church of Caorera, inaugurated in August 1987 during the celebrations of Our Lady of the Piave, recounts in three relief registers the memory and identity of the community: the reconciliation after World War I, the tragedy of emigration, and the mountain trades of the “poiat” (local mountain workers). On the left side appear Saint Gotthard and Saint Barbara, patron saints linked to local tradition. The style combines sculptural power with a narrative impulse; at the center, the handles decorated with a cluster of grapes and ears of grain evoke Eucharistic symbols. It is both a civic and a religious work, where the bronze, now veiled by a green copper patina, makes history, faith, and hope resonate.
