Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Grazie - Opere di Franco Fiabane

On the façade of the Sanctuary of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Rocca Pietore, Franco Fiabane created for the Jubilee of 2000 a large marble roundel (Ø 2.5 m) depicting the Madonna delle Grazie with the Child. Placed above the portal of the 'New Sanctuary', the relief enters into dialogue with the works of Augusto Murer and with the 19th-century painting by Domenico De Biasio. With a sober, classical language, the roundel combines solemnity and devotional immediacy, making the circular form a sign of welcome and Marian identity for the entire community.
